I posted this to various groups and individual?s a few days ago?.

+I?ve been trying without success to get my 9100 working with HS-Soundmodem
and EasyTerm. Everything +seems to be working except the PTT. I?m
receiving data, and passing it along via ports 8000 and 8001, but +cannot
get the PTT to work via the USB assigned com port. Thinking there is an
issue with my 9100 I +configured it for WSJT-X via DXLab and it is running
FT8 fine, no PTT issues. Does anyone have their 9100 +working with
Soundmodem or HS-Soundmodem and can send me their settings? Thanks?.

Andy, UZ7HO suggested that I use John G8BPQ?s program called CAT7200. This
allows programs that can?t handle the RTS from Icom CI-V PTT command. I
was blissfully unaware of this issue as I run my only other data setups like
WSJT-X using DXLab as a go between, Dave does a great job with DXLab. I now
have everything talking except SatPC32.

I tried several different things, like setting up another application port
in CAT7200, and also using VspMgr to try and split the port. No matter what
I do SatPC32 will not control the radio, using the comport from either app.
I?m getting close to getting this to work. Any suggestions on how to setup
SatPC32?

Personal opinion is don't use a / anything, just your own call, and setup a
new station location in tQSL to support your roving. FCC doesn't care
anymore. I think the portable designations cause more trouble than they
are worth. You might wait a bit then upload again without the / portable
designation and see if you pick up some more confirmations.

Another personal observation -- I usually get about 70% LotW confirmation
from DX and US stations, except for Sat operators, who manage less than
half of that. Despite using computers for doppler or pass prediction,
using one to QSL doesn't seem to be in their DNA for some unknown reason.
Wish it was better for sure.

Thanks for your roving. I heard you but was not able to get through the
crowd.

I also log with just my call. I have four grids that I operate from rather
regularly and I might use portable while there. If I am far from home, like
I was last night, I use it quite a bit, but it does not go into my log.

If I make it to VE land that would be a different topic.

Interesting. My experience is just the opposite. I get a much higher
percentage of QSLs from satellite QSOs than from other QSO types (mainly
CW in my case).

I guess that's the YMMV part.

This may be "obvious to the most casual observer" but I do not want to
assume anything. The rules for this award state that "you must work 50
amateur radio operators on any satellite (limit one per day) during 2019.
Does this mean 50 "different" call signs or can you count the same call sign
more than once if you work them on different days. I interpret this to mean
"50 different call signs." Am I correct. I have my flameproof suit on
just in case.

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the
airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing.

So I have a K3 which "generally" Rx's on VHF mode (Downlink)

And I have an IC910 which therefore is usually on xmit on the UHF side
(Uplink).

And invariably I am using, and quite happy with SatPC32 to control the
two radios.

And the latter is done with the help of VSPE to make some virtual serial
ports.

So what program(s) can I use to be able to LOG the xmit and the Rx
frequencies, the Calls, the locations of the guys ... and also
upload/download/match, from LOTW ?

?....and as a by product, keep track of Grids Countries and the like?

Contesting of any form is not needed.

thank you
