...THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PORTIONS
OF THE NORTHERN FL PENINSULA...
...SUMMARY... Strong storms will sag south across the northern
FL Peninsula this evening with some threat for locally damaging
winds. Localized hail/wind threat will exist across south-central
ND for the next 1-2 hours.
...FL...
Short-wave trough has progressed into GA/FL Panhandle and should
shift quickly offshore by early morning. As a result, surface low is
now deepening off the Carolina Coast and flow is veering over the
FL Peninsula. As low-level convergence weakens, east-west band of
convection currently noted from Levy-Flagler County will gradually
sag south and likely lose its intensity. For these reasons, only
a 5% wind threat will be maintained with these storms for the next
few hours.

Strongly diffluent high-level flow has developed over the northern
Plains ahead of northern Rockies short-wave trough. Steep low-level
lapse rates have also developed ahead of a pronounced surface front
extending across eastern WY into southwestern ND. While moisture
is quite limited across this region, convection has formed along
the boundary and one lone supercell has developed southwest of
BIS that has likely produced hail. 00z sounding from BIS exhibits
significant capping near 750mb so this activity should weaken
rapidly with loss of heating over the next 1-2 hours. Reference
