Southern Rockies short-wave trough has ejected into the southern
Plains this evening with the southern influence of this feature
affecting latitudes to near 30N. The back edge of stronger forcing
for ascent is expected to spread across TX/OK later tonight and this
should result in weak convection/precip shield advancing downstream
into the lower MS Valley. Earlier today, strong convection developed
across portions of south-central TX. This activity has lessened in
intensity and the threat for large hail appears to be less than 5%
as 00z soundings from CRP/BRO are quite capped and DRT sounding
exhibited only marginal buoyancy if lifting a parcel near 800mb.
