A friend of mine was visiting Cookeville, TN for training and said that
he was happy to hear a very professional sounding ARES response to the
tornado. He had lost TV / INTERNET / LANDLINES his cell was working but
he was glad he brought his HT with him. Listening to the ARES folks on
147.210 gave him constant updates as they helped field calls for help
directing EMS and reporting on damage. It's nice to know that at times
like these Hams are truly appreciated.
